Newport's Great War Memorial

Newport Parish Council is dedicating it's Great War Memorial at 2pm on Wednesday, 12 August 2015, at Coppins Bridge.

The sculpture is a commemoration to those that fought and died during the Great War (1914-1918) and the date marks the 100th anniversary of an action against enemy positions in Gallipoli by the 8th Hants (Isle of Wight Rifles) where many local men lost their lives.
