The Great War

Correlli Barnett is a seasoned military history author.  He was the co-scriptwriter and historical consultant to the BBC television series "The Great War".  This book was published to accompany the series and follows the original narrative structure of the broadcast programmes; it also incorporates much of the orriginal research material. The author gives clear and easy to read accounts of the political and strategic dilemmas as well as the social and industrial impacts of total war.  The book of 224 pages, is well illustrated with photographs, pictures and some excellent maps.

I commend this book to those who wish to understand the Great War, especially young people.
